Inst Exiles have one event each year in addition to the N.I.S.O.Bs competition. This is a roving event which has been played at several courses during its short existence - Sandy Lodge, Brampton, Verulam, Harpenden and Bedford golf clubs. 2007 will see us at Bedfordshire G.C for a second time.
The event is a Stableford (competition) round in the afternoon, followed by dinner. There are two main awards:
- the Ivan Thompson Trophy for Instmanship - a nebulous concept which allows the 'committee' much latitude in deciding it's presentation (and indeed no reasoning at all), and
- the Schriftbild Cup is awarded for the best Stableford round.
This event is open to all Instonians and is noted more for camaraderie than the quality of the golf. For details of this event see Instonian 2007.
